Eye Conditions - Macular Hole

The retina is a clear tissue that lines the back of the eye. The retina sends an electrical signal to the brain when light falls on it. The central most portion of the retina is called the macula. A stretching of the retina can cause a small rip or hole to form at the macula. This hole in the macula means the central vision and ability to see detail will be disrupted.
